Mobile Home Coverage Get Quote Now

Mobile home exposures to the perils of fire, theft or vandalism are equivalent to those of a conventional dwelling.  And, just like a standard dwelling, a mobile home is an investment.  Therefore, you need insurance to cover any damage or losses to your mobile home and its contents, and to cover your legal liability.

A comprehensive mobile home policy should cover sudden, direct and accidental loss from weather damage, environmental damage, damage caused by wild animals, man-made damage such as vandalism and collision and crime that harms the home and the personal property. Few homeowners will need all coverage options. Some causes of loss that you may want to look for in your policy include: fire, explosion, burglary, vandalism, water damage from bursting pipes, damage by wild or stray animals, falling objects, wind, hail, earthquake, landslide, collapse from weight of ice/snow.

Your mobile home policy should also include "Transportation/Permission to Move/Trip Coverage". This endorsement provides coverage for perils of transportation at the new location anywhere in the United States or Canada usually for a period of thirty days from the effective date of the endorsement.  The perils of transportation are collision, upset, and stranding or sinking (while the mobile home is being transported on a licensed conveyance).

As with any homeowner insurance, your mobile home policy can include liability coverage which protects you if you are found responsible for an accident that causes injury or property damage to someone who doesn’t live in your home.  Liability coverage can cover legal cost reimbursement for counsel, medical bills, loss wages in some cases, pain and suffering, and property damage.

There are Three Settlement Methods for Mobile Homes

Actual Cash Value – Pays to replace your home and possessions after deduction for depreciation

Agreed Loss Settlement – Pays the full amount of insurance for your home and possessions up to the limit of the policy (shown on your declaration page), minus any applicable deductible

Optional Replacement Cost – Pays to replace the damaged items with new property at current market prices. It gives the mobile home owner 120% of the insured amount, if needed, to replace the mobile home.
